Farm Manager

Management & Economics Consulting, Inc. (MAECI) is an International consulting firm, specializing in private and government projects; with our headquarters in Lititz & Radnor Pennsylvania. Currently working on several projects in Africa, MAECI is seeking candidates with experience in corn and soybean crop production for the role of Farm Manager for a new project in West Africa. The ideal candidate must have all the basic skills used to operate a 600 to 1000 acre corn farm.

Job Description: This West Africa operation again is a new project with corn being just the first phase. We are looking for a well-rounded farmer and possibly livestock manager to supervise and operate this growth project. This person will be very hands on. Must be experienced in crop production and capable of running planters; doing all phases up through harvest. Need to be a self-starter, dependable and trustworthy.

Qualifications: — Solid farming background — Must have some flood irrigation experience — Must be able to operate farm machinery. — Routine maintenance and repair skills — Should have some experience with agronomy — Solid seeds selection and seeding experience; experience with applying fertilizers and crop chemicals.

Perform other project’s related activities when needed:

  • Extensive Travel required, approximately 75%.

Consideration requirements include:

  • BS Degree in an Ag Related Field preferred
  • 6-8 years of industry experience in corn/soybean and livestock production;
  • Must have proven relevant experience with high recommendations

Plant Manager – Sheet Metals – Manufacturing Engineer

Currently working on several projects in Africa, MAECI is seeking Civil Engineering candidates with experience in Sheet Metal Roofing, Corrugated Iron and Metal Roll Forming, for the role of Plant Manager for a new project in West Africa. The ideal candidate must have all the basic skills used to manage a plant size of 30,000 to 60,000 sq feet.

Job Description: This West Africa operation again is a new project with Sheet Metal Roofing, Corrugated Iron and Metal Roll Forming being just the first phase. Great opportunity for a Plant Manager — MANUFACTURING PROCESS ENGINEER to provide technical engineering management and support to production operations. Requires BS Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with at least 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Must have expertise with production machinery and equipment for welding, roll forming equipments operations, machining, and fabricating and experience with PLC controls systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Requires proficiency with AutoCAD and Excel computer applications. Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology, statistical software, Lean Manufacturing training and knowledge of roll forming machines operations and painting processes a plus. The Plant Manager’s duties and responsibilities include:

  • Manage the preparation of the business annual Operating Plans in line with the delivery of the Business Strategy. Lead the plant team to deliver the plans.
  • Provide management level contribution to the overall business strategy in support of achieving the Company?s declared goals, priorities and financial commitments. Assume primary responsibility for the development of the plant?s strategy.
  • Act in line and in support of the company?s Global Operating Model and provide the necessary leadership.
  • Manage the plant?s team according to the company culture and guidelines.
  • Gain the trust of executive management to optimize working conditions and a positive work environment.

Qualifications: — Solid Plant Management & Metals background — The Plant Manager will have complete P&L responsibility for a manufacturing facility located in Western Africa. This facility employs a work force of approximately 30. The Plant Manager will effectively plan, direct and coordinate all metal and casting manufacturing, roll forming and related service departments to achieve efficient and economical manufacturing, to conform with established objectives and goals.

  • International experience and/or international assignment are highly desirable.
